Women and Hair Loss
Women and hair loss...four words that you never want to hear in the same sentence. You may not believe it, or want to believe it, but many women suffer or will suffer from hair loss.

Although the causes are different, women and men both suffer from hair loss. Unfortunately one out of four women will experience hair loss and you could be one of them.
You may be thinking that you are young and have healthy hair and therefore your hair will continue to be healthy, strong and in abundance. Surprisingly, 30 million women will be hit by hair loss between the ages of 25 and 35 (this is so young!).
Shocked? So am I. To reduce your current hair loss or to prevent it from happening, you should educate yourself about the six causes of hair loss in women.
- Biology: Sadly, 50% of women will inherit female pattern baldness from their female genetic line. Unfortunately you cannot change genetics and their course of action, but you can do different things to help bring your hair back, such as shampoos, remedies and vitamins. A healthy combination of all three will yield the best results.
- Stress: If you are constantly worrying about your job, your work overload or your finances, you are literally making your hair fall out. Backed by recent studies, it is true that if you stress more than 50% of the time you are more prone to hair loss than people who live low-stress lives. With our lives these days, women and hair loss are likely to meet.
- Depression: Depressed women and hair loss are commonly found together. Depression can cause stress which causes hair to fall out. In addition, depressed women usually take anti-depressants. The strong ones are designed to balance serotonin levels which can offset the hair growth. This then causes hair to lack in strength in reproduction.
- Diseases: Many diseases including thyroid and hormone imbalances effect hair growth. If the body is not healthy, it does not have the vitamins and minerals needed for proper hair growth.
- Medication: Some medications have hair loss listed as a side effect. Anabolic steroids are a medication that has a good chance of making your hair fall out. There are medications that are specific to women and hair loss. The Pill and mini-Pill are two types of birth control that can cause hair loss.
- Chemicals: In today’s society, it is very common for women to put different products in their hair, dye their hair, straighten it and braid it. This type of behavior can lead to hair loss.
Unhealthy hair will not continue to grow and produce at a normal rate, causing thin hair, bald patches or complete baldness.
Women and hair loss is more common than people think, or want to admit. There is a good chance you will deal with this issue at some point in your life. It is best to find out how to reduce your chances of getting it and how you can restore your hair if you do get it.
You always want to be one step ahead of your hair loss.
